AESP was formed with a mission to help advance the energy efficiency industry through offering quality education and networking to its practitioners. We could not have delivered on this mission if not for the thousands of members through the years who have contributed their time and knowledge to AESP – sharing what they have learned on the job, especially what worked and what didn’t.
We invite our members to consider one of the many ways that you can contribute to the shared knowledge pool through AESP involvement.
Speak and Share Your Expertise at an AESP Conference
AESP presents three conferences a year and responding to an AESP Call for Abstracts is the first step toward presenting at a conference. Call for Abstracts are announced in AESP emails and in What’s New several times a year, so look for them and submit your proposal.
Join a Topic Committee
Membership in a Topic Committee is a great way to get involved that does not require a huge time commitment. Members communicate via emails and teleconferences so there is no travel required to be part of a TC. Yet, you will have the opportunity to connect and collaborate with practitioners in your special field from all over North America. Members of Topic Committees help review abstracts for AESP Conferences, in addition to volunteering their expertise in various other areas.
Contact the respective Topic Committee Chairs to join a Topic Committee that interests you.
- Business Issues and Models
- Gas Energy Efficiency
- Innovations in Tools & Technology
- Pricing & Demand Response
- Research & Evaluation
Organize a Webinar
AESP Webinars are another way to share your knowledge without needing to travel. To get involved with organizing a Webinar, begin by joining one of the seven AESP Topic Committees. Webinar topics and their speakers/moderators are identified from volunteers on these committees. You can also contact email@example.com for more information.
Write an Article For Strategies
As with webinars, the members of AESP’s seven Topic Committees identify suitable topics and write the articles for AESP’s monthly e-magazine Strategies, so here’s another reason to join a Topic Committee. Have an idea for an article? Contact the editor at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Help Organize Chapter Events
Chapters are another great place to contribute your time and your talents. AESP chapters regularly organize local educational and networking activities for AESP members, such as special speaker events, networking mixers, local facility tours and other exciting activities. Learn more about each chapter and how to get involved, at AESP’s Chapter webpages.
