Dear AESP Community,
The recent murders of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery and Breonna Taylor as well as the violence we have witnessed in recent days have left us heartbroken and devastated. Their lives mattered. We strongly condemn the events that led up to this loss of life. We stand with all our members, regardless of race, color, gender or creed. Each of us is a unique and meaningful thread in the fabric of our community and we are stronger together.
We are committed to positioning AESP as a positive force for promoting change and understanding. We’ve already implemented some measures to ensure diversity and inclusion within our organization, but we acknowledge that there is still more work to be done. In the coming months, we pledge to develop a more thorough action plan that will address diversity and social equity issues within each facet of our organization, including ensuring that a meaningful dialogue among our members on these issues can take place.
As we move forward, we encourage you to share your thoughts and ideas with us via email, our group forums or any of our social media accounts. Please know that we are here for you and we’re listening. We look forward to partnering with you to address this critical set of issues in a positive and constructive way.
