Do you qualify as a diverse organization but are not sure how to go about getting certified?
Have you tried to find smaller suppliers to team up with to present a diverse team to a utility?
Do you try to find large suppliers to combine your diverse certification with their bigger reach into utilities?
Do you have an initiative in place, or in the planning stages, to broaden your supplier base to be more inclusive?
Have you tried to find those suppliers with specific certifications and not been successful?
Are your budgets to work with diverse suppliers increasing?
As part of AESP’s Annual Conference, we are integrating a unique half-day session on Thursday morning, January 24, 2019 in San Antonio at the Marriott Rivercenter that will address these questions and much more. YOU ARE INVITED to attend this exclusive double session and hear thought leaders share their experiences and effective tips on supplier diversity efforts.
The first session is a panel solely focused on highlighting their experiences with supplier diversity and includes a large electric utility, a significant prime contractor in the energy industry, a diverse small business in energy efficiency, and a certifying agency.
Speakers: Mark Sebree, Franklin Energy; Bobby Robertson, Client Confidant; Marvelene Jones, Exelon; Karen Box, Southwest Minority Supplier Development Council (SMSDC) and Karin Cozzi, DTE. Moderated by Steve Babb from DNV GL, this panel promises to share what utilities REALLY want; how to partner with other companies to win contracts; and what it takes to become a certified supplier. You willengage with large suppliers looking for diverse companies, understand the unique nuances of utility proposals and how to respond; and gain clarity on how to navigate through the maze of certifying your company. You are encouraged to ask questions and get inside tips on how to succeed in this industry.
Here is where you will have the unique opportunity to meet with the stakeholders in Supplier Diversity. You will learn about the breadth and depth of knowledge that small suppliers bring to our industry. You will also network with senior level staff from utilities, large and small implementers and certification bodies. Go home armed with new knowledge and business cards to develop future relationships and partnerships.
