Emerging Valuation Approaches in Cost-Effectiveness and IRPs

October 31, 2019 • 1 pm (ET)

Join us for a discussion of non-traditional valuation strategies that capture the non-energy benefits of utility programs, such as accounting for climate change impacts, the social cost of carbon, alternative transportation, economic development, and distributed energy resources.

This webinar will provide an overview of the National Standard Practice Manual (NSPM) framework,
its adoption by states, and a related database on cost-effectiveness practices, and other useful resources. The webinar will also share how new approaches are being put into practice. Specifically, speakers will share lessons learned from recent efforts to incorporate new metrics into Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD)’s integrated resource plan (IRP) and National Grid’s cost-effectiveness framework for Rhode Island.

This will be a 75-minute webinar.

Speakers:

Courtney Lane, National Grid
Cynthia Austin, Sacramento Municipal Utility District
Franklin Neubauer, Core Metrics

Moderator:
Sam Ross, Optimal Energy
