Emerging Metrics and Valuation Approaches for Resource Programs

October 31, 2019 • 1 pm (ET)

Join us for a discussion of non-traditional valuation strategies and metrics that capture the non-energy benefits of utility programs, such as the social cost of carbon, alternative transportation, economic development, and distributed energy resources. Hear about upcoming changes to the National Standard Practice Manual (NSPM) to guide non-traditional metrics.

Listen to speakers from National Grid and the Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) to understand how they worked with stakeholders and policymakers to incorporate new metrics into integrated resource plans and cost-effectiveness frameworks. Speakers will share thoughts on lessons learned from recent efforts, including challenges, opportunities, and further research needs.

Speakers:
Courtney Lane, National Grid
Cynthia Austin, Sacramento Municipal Utility District
Franklin Neubauer, Core Metrics
Sam Ross, Optimal Energy

Moderator:
Alan Elliott, Opinion Dynamics
