Evolving Forms of Strategic Energy Management

September 19, 2019 • 1 pm (ET)

Strategic Energy Management (SEM) is an effective technique for engaging larger customers in more holistic fashion.  Rather than just executing individual facility capital projects, SEM seeks to involve a number of levels of the organization to create operational and capital energy savings and to shift towards a systematic approach to multiyear improvements  for energy efficiency. There are many forms of SEM emerging in today’s marketplace.

While SEM has shown tremendous promise, the question is how best to get potential clients involved and how to manage the process.  Is an energy team needed or can outside contractors work successfully with participants? Can ISO 50001:2018 be a part of SEM?  What’s the difference between being certified to the ISO standard and 50001 Ready recognition from the U.S. Department of Energy?  If we already have an energy team – isn’t that good enough?  Can SEM take us further? Can energy management information systems be part of SEM as a savings generator? Which approach is the best way to create energy savings and how do we measure the savings?

Join this webinar to hear a discussion and comparison of the benefits and costs of various approaches to SEM.  You’ll leave the webinar with a direction on how to make the best decision on which approach among a spectrum of choices is best for your organization.
