Still Lots of Savings from Residential Refrigerators?

Thursday, March 4, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. (<stockticker></stockticker>Eastern)

Description:

How much energy savings can an energy efficiency program still get from refrigerators? After all, refrigerators are the poster child for the success of appliance standards - current models use half of the energy of products manufactured 25 years ago.

A recently published analysis conducted by D&R International and published by the U.S. Department of Energy yields a surprising answer. Substantial energy savings potential remains, but capturing these savings requires a multi pronged strategy that focuses on interventions at the retail level and active encouragement of retirement and recycling of inefficient units.

Attend this Webinar to learn more about the dynamics of the refrigerator market, the complex nature of the installed base of refrigerators, the energy savings opportunities, and how to capture them.

Moderator:

AESP Brown Bag Seminar

Home Energy Efficiency Contests: Integrating Social Marketing with Energy Efficiency

Thursday, March 25, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. (<stockticker></stockticker>Eastern)

Description:

Learn about two innovative program models that rely on competition with social marketing aspects. These two contest approaches illustrate that there is a viable market to encourage individual homeowners and entire communities to make more comprehensive home energy improvement choices:

The Climate and Energy Project’s Take Charge Challenge - a friendly competition in six Kansas communities to determine which community can conserve the most energy – leveraged Midwest Energy’s How$mart program to win the challenge in two Midwest Energy communities.
