Should We Hug Now?
How Wisconsin Has Used Collaboration to Jointly Improve Evaluation and Programs

September 21, 2017  •  1:00 pm (ET)

In theory, evaluators and programs should share an interest in maintaining an amicable working relationship. In practice, program implementers, administrators, evaluators and regulators have experienced contentious debates over evaluation findings and recommendations.   This Webinar details how Wisconsin has put in place a collaborative partnership focused on achieving mutual benefits for programs and evaluators. .

Learn how:

  • Evaluation quality can be improved by ensuring program input and priorities are incorporated in the planning and development process, not just in reaction to completed work; and
  • Program quality can be improved by increasing the transparency of evaluation methods and results, working jointly to ensure evaluation findings are effectively applied, and identifying opportunities outside of formal evaluation where the program would benefit from the involvement of evaluation staff.

This presentation will provide perspectives from a commission staff member, a program administrator, and an evaluator. We will describe the successes of collaboration as well as its continuing challenges.
