Small utilities and cooperatives face unique opportunities as well as challenges in implementing energy efficiency and demand response programs. With a strong sense of community and an emphasis on customer satisfaction, many have found success, whether through outsourcing or utilizing in-house resources to design and run these programs. We weigh both sides of the coin. The National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) will share the key findings from their report on utilizing implementation contractors. Then we’ll hear lessons learned from two co-ops and one small utility that implement programs with and without contractors.  We will end the webinar with a research-consultant company sharing its impartial evaluation of co-ops using both approaches.

Thomas Kirk, National Rural Electric Cooperative Association
