The California Chapter of the Association of Energy Services Professionals (AESP) serves as a forum for members and other interested professionals to come together to network, inspire, and motivate. The chapter meets on a more formal basis quarterly, with events in Northern and Southern California, and less formally with smaller meet-ups more often. Chapter events are designed to bring together a wide-range of market actors responsible for advancing renewables and energy efficiency in California including program implementers, utilities, contractors, eco-entrepreneurs, equipment manufacturers and distributors, consultants, architects, non-profits, students, and those wanting to enter the energy industry.

April 2017, volunteer project -- Rebuilding Together
Ever wonder what your California counterparts are up to? At the end of April 2017, the AESP California chapter set up their first volunteer effort with Rebuilding Together. A total of 13 volunteers brought their wrenches and pliers and got to work installing low-flow faucet aerators and shower heads, installing LEDs, checking fridge and water heater temperatures, and educating residents about energy efficiency. The team was able to round up donations from the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission, KW Sustainable Brands, and Embertec. Thanks to our donors and volunteers for all of their help! If you have questions about how to do this in your region, reach out to Chris Hammer at email@example.com. Submitted by Martha Wudka.

AESP California Chapter lunch and learn: Commercial PACE in California
Commercial PACE is gaining serious traction in California. PACE allows energy efficiency, water efficiency, DR and self-generation projects to be repaid on property taxes, creating an off-balance sheet vehicle that can be stacked with traditional financing, combined with utility incentives and used to recover costs from tenants. Learn how you and your customers can leverage this transformative tool to accelerate energy and water project adoption in retrofit, gut rehab and new construction applications and help the state close the gap on goals.
